On the horizon is an assemblage of several installations and performances that all take their inspiration from the phallic symbol. It is almost impossible not to be confronted by these vertical forms of self-proclaimed male authority. Towering apartment buildings dominate the landscape, there is no museum or gallery to visit in which the male sexual organ is absent. And once you've seen this work, even the horizon might get funky.. And the phallic symbol hopefully loses it's last bits of authority. By copiously adding even more phallic symbols, Ruben attempts to break the untouchability of this symbol as a man with his deconstructive humorous approach which he cultivates in his work for the past few years.
